China Glaze in Town

The other day I was complaining to fellow blogger Katrina that I'm jealous I can't find China Glaze nail polish around.

I was on the bus coming through Aggelaki St, I was looking outside the window and suddenly I see a China Glaze shop!A.Whole.China Glaze.Shop.

Of course the thing I wanted the most was to jump off the bus at the next stop but since Aristotelous St was our final destination this day, I held myself from dumping the girls to go nail polish shopping. I think they were looking at me weird over my enthusiasm for nail polish... :P

Of course I went first thing in the morning the other day.

There were hundrends of colours and it was hard for me to chose. I eyed some darks (green, blue, cherry, black) but since the weather is better I suppose I won't wear them that much. I got :

Ένα. China Glaze!!

The infamous "For Audrey" that I wanted since the first time I found it on the internet. The colour is the same as the Tiffany's box, a soft turquoise. Lovely.

I also got the pink "Pure Elegance" that will probably leave for the summer. Looks like it will be great on tanned skin.

Price : 10 euros each. Not great but much better than paying 15 in Sephora for a limited number of colours of OPI.

Aggelaki St is officially the Nail Polish St. Not only there's the China Glaze shop, but also another one dedicated to nails with Essie, OPI, Orly and much more and anything professional.

Have you tried any China Glaze?Anything good that you would suggest for me to try?

NOTD and Xmas is Coming!

It's been so long, I almost forgot how to use blogger! Shame on me.

Nails of the Day : This is one of my all time favourite colours, creamy mauve-pink, you name it. I can't say the same for the nail polish. Cheap of course, but 3 coats to get this?? Not recommended.

I was wandering around shops today and I was happy to get into a shop with a wall full of xmas cuteness! I loved the cookie jars you see on the back and the candles with the clever lid on the front, looking like chocolate with cream and smelling like chocolate too!

I also walked into Mac, swatching 100 colours, preparing myself for the 30% discount from Glamour magazine next week!! Oh, I remembered why I love Mac so much! You can see purple shadows, satin taupe and other colours on my wishlist.

I am searching for a perfect red lipstick and since my Mac shopping list is so big, I went to Hondos to check on some other brands. The one I loved from Mac is Russian Red (Kim Kardashian favourite, click here to see it). Then I found one that looks just like that in Maybelline! It's Lady Red from the new Color Sensationals.

They don't look identical in the photo but I promise they're are very much alike in the reality. The difference is Maybelline is juicier and Russian Red is matte. It' s a shade that will look good on everyone.(Russian Red is the big line in the middle and on it's left it's the Lady Red. Chaos I know!)

I'll buy Maybelline for now and tell you how I find it.Note that will be my first red lipstick. ;)

What's your favourite red lipstick?

Tip for a Perfect French Manicure DIY

I've only been once in my life in a nail salon and that's because I had a coupon.
Don't get me wrong when I'll be rich I'd be happy to go every week to a professional, sitting and relaxing whilst everyone is paying attention to me. :)

I just, for now, choose to spend my money wisely, and why not, when I can take care of my nails, easily,by myself.

I think I've been using this tip for french manicure since forever. I don't take credit though, I've learned it from my best friend's sister (who also introduced me to pedicure and bright red toe nails at the age of 17)

What you need is : A french manicure set (that you can also put together yourself with a white nail polish, a sheer pink one and a top coat) and some tape. Yes.Tape.

1. We start off with clean nails (nail polish remover, cut cuticles, put some lotion etc)

2. Put some tape under the white part of your nails, sticking it on your nail and wraping it around your finger. (agh, I hope you understand my nonsense! Look at the pic anyway.)

3. Depending on your nail shape you might have to bend the tape slightly, or it might be completely staight.

4. Grab your white nail polish and put it on the tip of your nails.

5. It can be completely sloppy as you can see, and that's ok, since our whole nail is covered with the tape.

6. Wait some minutes until it's completely dry and remove the tape slowly.

7. You can now add the sheer pink colour.

8. When it's dry, apply the top coat and you're good to go. Tadaah.

After looking during the whole winter for a yellow nail polish, I had to go abroad to finally find it. Worth the trouble!

PS. Absent again from your blogs and mine due to technical difficulties ( broken memory card and 1-hour internet every two days).

As green as it gets

The title refers to the lack of parks and green we have in my city... Luckily there are still some places to keep our minds off.

This is how your baby turtles will turn out if you have them for years! I think every person in Thessaloniki throws their pet shop turtles in there when they grow old and big! It's crazy!

Dress : Dorothy Perkins
Boots : Migato
Knitted : Bershka
Umbrella : From Rhodes (they have a lot of shops)

It's raining again..............Boo

Ski Manicure
